Marine Maturation

The Science of Underwater Wine Aging

Inside a natural underwater cave in the Tyrrhenian Sea, 80 meters below the surface, darkness, stable temperatures, and multidirectional sea currents create a unique environment for the aging of Tuscan wine. Each bottle is carefully placed by professional divers, allowing the natural forces of the sea to become an integral part of the aging process.

The Marine Maturation

The Sea’s Signature

Each bottle undergoes meticulous handcrafted preparation before entering the underwater environment. The closure is protected with three layers of premium shellac, creating a refined barrier designed to preserve the wine throughout its marine aging journey.

Every immersion is a carefully controlled artisanal operation. Professional divers personally transport and place only two bottles at a time inside the underwater cave, ensuring that each bottle begins its unique maturation journey with the utmost care.

For eighteen months, the natural multidirectional currents of the Tyrrhenian Sea gently interact with each bottle, while the constant 14°C environment provides stable conditions throughout the maturation process.

After the maturation period, each bottle is carefully retrieved by professional divers, preserving the unique marine signature created by the sea. Every bottle emerges as a one-of-a-kind expression of craftsmanship, time, and nature.

From Montepulciano to the Sea and Back

Submerged 80 meters beneath the Tuscan coast, each vintage rests in the dark waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, protected from sunlight and atmospheric fluctuations.

Submerged Sanctuaries

80 Meters Beneath the Tyrrhenian Sea

Submerged 80 meters beneath the Tuscan coast, each vintage rests in the dark waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, protected from sunlight and atmospheric fluctuations.

Complete darkness eliminates exposure to ultraviolet light, while the stable underwater environment provides consistent conditions throughout the aging process—an environment impossible to replicate in a traditional cellar.

Living Canvas

Deep sea currents and marine life sculpt every bottle into an unrepeatable Mediterranean artifact.

Natural marine encrustations, mineral deposits, and delicate ocean flora coat each glass surface during eighteen months of underwater rest.
